Trying To Get Back

So, as you can imagine, after last week, I have stumbled with my fitness journey. It has not completely failed, but it has suffered when my mental health suffered. This week was a lot of focusing on trying to get back on track. Here’s how it went.

Trying to get back to exercise

So, I would say that exercise took the biggest hit when my mental health took a nose dive last week. I still did one workout, but that was because my friend came over to do our weekly workout together. It did kick our butts and I’m glad that I did the workout. However, I didn’t do anything else active. This week started off a bit of the same. I watched YouTubers doing their workouts and healthy eating and thought, that should be me. Then I went to the next video or took a nap. Night shifts require a lot of napping right now. So, I’m going to try and get back on the exercise wagon with some more fun workouts, and planning them out.

Food

Yeah, I’m not going to lie. I ate out. Twice. I know, I shouldn’t have. There was one day I was craving chicken wings like crazy, so I gave a coworker some cash and sent them to get me some that I ordered from dominoes. They were everything I hoped for flavor wise, though I’m convinced that they shrunk their wings. They were a lot smaller than I remembered. The day after that I was craving a burger, so I went to McDonalds. That was a mistake as I did get a stomach ache. During my night shifts, I’ve been eating a lot of candy. Weirdly enough, they are not that great. And I love candy. Perhaps that will be what I need to get back on track.

Not all Food was a Failure
Sweet Potato Sushi Bowl

I did make a delicious meatball casserole on Tuesday as my weekly new recipe with my coworker’s daughter. Apologies, I was a bad blogger again and completely forgot to take pictures of it. Still working on remembering to do that. Thursday, my friend and I made delicious sweet potato sushi bowls. These I remembered to photograph. Look at me growing. I’m trying to get back to eating better meals. Question: would you all like me to do a blog on what I eat in a week? Perhaps that will actually help me stay more accountable.

trying to get back to water

This is honestly my biggest challenge. I do not naturally drink a lot of water. It has to be a very conscious decision on my part. Yes, I’m trying to make it better and easier by trying different things. I made lemon water, I’ll add Arbonne EnergyFizz. Some days I’ll even switch up the cup to one of my more fun cups. To be honest, I sucked at tracking my water this week, so I’m not sure how much I actually drank. I will do better next week. I promise. This week I do know that I drank more than last week, but I’m still far off from my target. So, I will be trying to get back on my water challenge. I guess it’s almost time to just redo it. We will see.

fall down and get back up

Yes, I had a rough two weeks when it comes to my fitness journey. However, I am trying to get back on track. I have future challenges that I want to document on the blog, as well as on my social media. Perhaps I’ll make some more reels about the food that I’m making. I intend to reach my goals this year and a rough two weeks will not stop me. With all the cheerleaders I have in my corner, I cannot lose. Thank you to everyone who has been there, rooting for me. Even by reading my blogs you are showing your support, even if I don’t know who you are. So, thank you.

How are your goals going? Did you make any? It’s not too late to make some. How about making goals for the month of February? It doesn’t hurt to start small. Let’s make 2024 a success year for us all. Are you in? Because you and I know that anything can happen if we try.

  1. So exciting to see you bouncing back!! Praying for continued wellness ❤️❤️

I LOVE the food updates. The inspiration helps me out of the food rut I’ve been stuck in, making the same meals over and over again. It’s time for more “fun” food in my life.

    1. Yeah! I will always encourage trying new meals. Though having some favorite staples is also great.
