Challenge Reset

So, I have taken on a few challenges this year and I’ve been struggling with some of them. And, I hinted with a previous blog that I’ll be tackling another challenge soon. This one will be more challenging than anything I’ve ever done. So, to prepare for it, I decided that today I’m going to do a Challenge Reset. Here’s what it will look like.

Challenge Reset – Water

My water challenge has been the one that has struggled the most. I’ve started to notice my body reacting to the lack of water again. So, I’m getting back on it today. My plan to make that a success – don’t just drink plain water. I’ve made myself a pitcher of lemon water, and I’ve already had a delicious cup of tea. I also have a workout plan (more on that in a bit) which I know will get me drinking more water. My short term goal is to be able to tell you next week that I made my water goal every day this week. Wish me luck. So, that is my water challenge reset.

Challenge Reset – Reading

This challenge is a bit of a harder one. How does one go about a reading challenge reset? Don’t get me wrong – I love to read. However, the book that I’m reading isn’t that great at holding my attention. This might put some negative points against me but I have never been a fan of the Hunger Games or Game of Thrones. I’m sorry to fans of both, but they never interested me. The book that I’m reading, which I bought a while back, is very much in line with those two stories. It does say on the back of the book “Reminiscent of The Hunger Games and Game of Thrones”. – Kirkus Reviews. If I would have looked at that properly, I probably wouldn’t have bought it.

However, my goal of reading 50 books this year is on the line and I am determined to finish the book to count it as my first book. So, as my challenge reset, I’m taking a more conscious effort to sit and read it. I made it through a few chapters this morning before working on my blog. I was up way too early, so I made some tea, put on some soft music and let myself enter the world this book has made. For those of you wondering, the book is called Red Rising, by Pierce Brown. I’ll put my review of it in a blog once I’ve finished it.

Exercise

I didn’t really have a workout challenge that I was doing at the moment. I was going to aim, back in January, on doing yoga everyday, but that fell through quite quickly. Which is okay because I found other ways to workout and I still do some yoga or other forms of stretching. There still isn’t really a challenge here, but with my water goal, I want to make some sort of workout schedule. I’m still trying to figure out what that would look like, and I’ll let you know if I figure something out. I might do a challenge with my sister as she wants to get into better shape as well, so we will see what happens there.

Food

There really isn’t a need to do a food challenge reset. I’ve been doing well, for the most part with this. In fact, I made a delicious meal yesterday. Don’t worry, I remembered to take a picture of it. That will be in Friday’s blog though. So, sorry about the spoiler. Tomorrow’s dish should be delicious as well, so I’m looking forward to that. What I’ve been doing is picking 3-4 new recipes each week to try and each one has been delicious. I still have the challenge to make my way through my cookbooks, so that is going slow, but steady.

Conclusion

I do plan on making my goals and being able to share them with you. The big challenge I have coming up will definitely kick my butt if I don’t start getting to work on some things now. For those who are wondering, I will announce my challenge on February 21st. Until then, you can speculate what the challenge might be. I’ve told some people, mainly to keep myself accountable to actually start it. Another thing I’ve done is put the challenge in my phone, so that should help me as well. Now I’ve told you my announcement date, which is also my start date, so that’s a third accountability. Maybe after you read that blog you will want to join in. It would be so cool to do it together, but I’ll leave that up to you. But it would be fun, just saying. Have a great week everyone and remember that anything can happen if we try.
