New Series

Sometimes I watch YouTube and just doom scroll and it just wastes a lot of time. However, recently I stumbled across a YouTuber that I don’t think I’ve watched before. She had started a series called Dream Life Diaries. I watched a few of them and thought to myself – This is a great idea. Now, I’m hoping that by starting a new series of blogs I’ll post more consistently. But, before we get carried away, let’s talk about what I’m hoping for.

What New Series

So, I don’t think I’ll completely copy this girl and name it Dream Life Diaries. That’s also because I have no idea what my dream life would consist of. But, I like the idea of using a series to try and help me improve my life. I’ve mentioned in the past that I’m struggling with motivation and even just getting out of bed. So, how will a new series help me? Honestly, it might not. But I think I want to try and start a journey. There is a goal that I want to strive for starting next year. And that means I do need to get my life on some sort of track. So, I think I will make this series help me to aim for that. I just do not know what I’ll call it. Yet.

Let’s Start With Healthy Habits

Because of my job, there are a few things that I obviously will not be able to incorporate at the moment. These include a proper sleep schedule, and a more structured day. Now, to be clear, I know myself. If I try to structure my life by the hour, it’s not going to happen. Maybe I can begin to aim for something close, but right now it’s just not attainable. I work night shifts and my job is not a set schedule. It’s not a 9-5 job. So, while I work at this job, that won’t be happening. Although, I might be able to improve my sleep schedule after marriage because I will not be continuing with night shifts after I get married. Honestly, I can’t wait.

What’s Realistic?

Realistically, I can begin with a vague schedule. For example, last year I had a blog posting schedule. It didn’t really matter what time, as long as I posted on that day. This is realistic for me. So, I’m going to start by saying that my series updates will be every Monday. I’ll share how my previous week was, how my goals are going, etc. I think another thing I want to try and schedule is my workouts. Again, not saying I’ll workout at this time, but which days. A time, again, might be more beneficial but I can’t necessarily do that with my current work schedule. I’ll figure that out as well.

New Series Goal

The goal of my series will be to help me get closer to my bigger goals. One of those goals is to become a full time writer and editor. So, in order for me to have more time to do writing, I’ll need to cut back hours of my hotel job, or find a way to use my free time more wisely. The second is something that I can try right here, right now. I don’t need to wait. I could try to start small and say I have to do some writing for an hour every day, as an example. This could be my blog, my fan fiction, or working on the second draft of my book. The editing will be a bit tricky right now, because I’ll need to take a course first. No one is going to pay me to edit their book if I don’t have the proper training.

Social Media

I know that the best way to get my name out there when I do have my editing course finished, is through social media. However, my social media following is not very high right now. At all. I’m not reaching any writers with that account. So, I think I’m going to try and use this new series to try and implement a regular posting schedule, which will hopefully help me grow. Recently I took a social media webinar and I’m hoping to try and use a bit of what I learned to grow my account. However, this does mean that I need to get my act together. Can’t grow a blog account if I’m not blogging. And I know I need to nail down what I want this blog to be about. Right now, it’s all over the place. But, I guess that’s accurate to my actual life and the blog is Life with Stephanie.

Let the New Series Begin

So, I have a few days to figure out what I want the series to be called, and what my goals are going to be at the beginning. The YouTuber that inspired this implemented each new habit for at least a week before she tried to add to it. So, I think I’m going to give myself some time. On Monday, I will let you all know what I’m going to try and work on and how long I’ll work on it. Honestly, I do think I will try to implement something for 3-4 weeks before I begin something new. I’m terrible at sticking to something for a long period of time, so I think that is something I really need to work at. I have some ideas on what I will try and focus on for the remainder of April, but I’ll think about that for a bit first. So, let’s see what happens with this new series. Because anything can happen if I try.
