Sorry that this came so late. I usually try to post this right near the beginning of the next month. However, as you know if you’ve been following me, I am on holidays and keep putting blogging to the side so that I can enjoy my time. More on my holidays later. Right now, we talk about how my fitness journey in June went. So, let’s dive in and see how I did.
The plan
So, I didn’t really have a game plan for the month of June. I know I wanted to do lots of jogging because I had to train for my 10k run. If you read my blog on that, you will know that this didn’t go according to plan because I injured my ankle. I didn’t really have a meal plan. The goal was simply to eat well so that I could have a good run.
Exercise
Well, I obviously was not able to run as much as I wanted because of the injury. I knew that I needed to stretch a lot more so that my ankle would survive the run. The week of my 10k I started to do a lot of yoga. I followed the YouTube channel Yoga with Adrienne. I have tried other yoga instructors on YouTube, but she is my go too. I did some runners yoga, as well as yoga for tired legs and feet. After my run, I kept at yoga for a good portion of the remainder of the month.
food
This is where I severely dropped the ball. I ate out way too much, which did me no favours. I started off alright. I found a meal plan called Balanced on my BetterMe app. It was a new plan and one that I was excited about because it seemed more sustainable than any of the other plans I had tried. There were repeat meals close enough together that you didn’t have to worry about buying produce and using it once and the rest going bad before needing it again. The food was delicious, simple, and quick to make. Another bonus. However, I just dropped the ball. I didn’t follow the plan. No excuses, no reason.
overall
Overall, I don’t think June was a complete failure. I may have dropped the ball with my eating, but I did better with exercise. I don’t look at this and hang my head in shame. I actually have hope that this is trending in the right direction for me. If I can continue working out regularly I will hopefully want to eat better to fuel my body. It’s a journey, and because I have not completely “failed” I see this as a win. I’m going to keep improving.
coming up
July, I don’t have any kind of plan and that is because I am on holidays for half the month. When I get back home I’ll work on getting back on the journey, but for now, I’m going to enjoy myself. I’m going to have some drinks, eat all the food I want, and just enjoy myself. I also didn’t take a monthly progress photo this month, so I’m unable to show my 6 month progress. I will most likely start over in August with that. Or, maybe I have something else up my sleeve. You will just have to follow along to find out. Now, I’m off to continue to enjoy my holidays. I’ll try to post another blog soon, but I make no promises. Remember, anything can happen if you try.
