July – A short break

Can you believe we are in August already? Where did July go? It’s actually crazy how fast this year is going. So much has happened and so much more to come. I can’t wait to share certain things with you as they come. For now, let’s do an update on my fitness journey. As you can imagine by the title, not much happened. However, this is not the end, so let’s talk about my fitness journey in July.

The goal

Because I spent the beginning of July on my holidays, I didn’t want to make a diet plan or workout plan. I wanted to be able to enjoy my holidays, relax when I could, eat what I want, and sleep as long as I wanted. If I would have been on a plan of any sort, this could have lessened the enjoyment. If I was Pescatarian, I wouldn’t have been able to enjoy that amazing steak or try a moose burger. If I was vegetarian, I wouldn’t have been able to have fresh seafood. As for the exercise, I knew that we would be walking around and trying some hikes, so that was the only plan in that area.

Now

I do believe that I gained weight while I was out in Newfoundland. The rest of July was so busy with getting back to work at the hotel and starting my schedule for my blog and keeping that up; I just didn’t have the time or energy to workout. My holiday was expensive, so buying a bunch of healthy foods for my groceries was out of the question. However, eating out all the time was also out of the question. I bought a few groceries, and lived off sandwiches and a few fruits. I did get takeout a few times though.

Moving Forward

I do plan to get back on track for August, though it will be a slower start. Things at the hotel, staff wise, are a bit crazy with holidays and needing to hire and train more people. So, I will ease back to a plan as I have the time for it. I have abandoned the progress photos for a while. When the night shift goes on holidays and you’re training a second night shift person, you work a lot of night shifts and sleep is important. I don’t want to get sick because I’m so worn out. Another reason to love writing blogs as my second job. I can sit and relax while typing.

Let’s Wrap This Up

In conclusion, August is going to be focused on getting back on track. Hopefully I will have a better update, but please keep your expectations realistic. I’m working lots of hours between the hotel and blogging and I do need time to rest. I am trying to keep take out to a minimum to save money that way as I work towards paying off my trip and building my savings again. I have plans for more travel adventures and I promise that next time I will take you with me and blog while on the trip, not after. I’m working on staying disciplined as well, and sticking to my blog schedule. I have some other projects that I’m working on as well and I can’t wait to share those with you all. That’s all for now. Until next time remember that anything can happen if you try.
