I’m back with another review for Destination Dinner Stage (DDS). Last year I went and saw Golden Gals and left a review on my blog about it. This week I got to go see their second show, and I believe it was opening night for it. This one was based off of the TV show, Yellowstone. So, let me tell you about the menu, the service and the show – spoiler free of course.
Yellowstone Menu
For those who have seen the show, Yellowstone, you can probably guess what the menu was themed off of. For those of you, like me, who have not, I’ll fill ya in. It was based off what cowboys and girls would most likely eat. Again, there were options for you to pick when you ordered your tickets. The options were beef, chicken, fish, or vegetarian. With Golden Gals I had tried the fish. It was delicious. This time I opted to try the chicken. The fish option sounded mouth watering, but I was not disappointed with my meal. And the drinks – delicious. I had three. Killer Koolaide (2 of these) and Rum Punch. Our starter was a potato and corn chowder and for dessert we had apple crisp. I left full and very satisfied with the food.
The Service
I feel terrible for not remembering my server’s name, but she was absolutely amazing. She was quick to notice if one of our drinks was empty and promptly had it replaced. On top of that she was extremely friendly and kind, and was almost always nearby if we needed her. And she was watching a few tables, so I was very happy with her. Other staff were quick to remove dirty dishes from the table so that we had room for the next round. And the food was served quickly with how many people they had to serve. While this was happening, some of the cast would walk around as well, remaining in character, and visiting the tables. It just added to the whole experience and kept us entertained.
Yellowstone – The Show
The cast was fantastic. You could tell they were having as much fun putting on the show as we were having watching it. The songs were familiar and I found myself, more than once, singing along with the actors. There was one song, dang I can’t remember the title of it, but it was like a bit of a love song. My fiance and I would face each other during the chorus and sing to each other. One of the cast was walking by during this part and looked over and said that we looked so cute. They were great. I enjoyed every part of the show.
Suggestions?
Hmm, honestly I don’t think I have any this time around. I did want to get a photo with the cast again, and I managed to find three of them. So, the only change I wish for was that I had the rest of the cast in the photo as well, but it’s not a deal breaker for me. The whole thing was well put together, the songs were fun to sing along to, the food – amazing. So, I highly recommend going to see it. Who cares if you haven’t seen the show. If you like great food, great service, and wonderful entertainment, you need to go.
Rating
I give this experience a 5 star rating. Everything about it, as I’ve said multiple times, was fantastic. And, I’m excited that the next show that DDS will be putting on is Grease. Thinking of going for my birthday, but I’ll see. In a way, I do enjoy going to the shows closer to opening night because then I can put out my recommendation and review before everyone has seen it already. So, if anyone from Destination Dinner Stage is reading this – I’ll be back for Grease. My fiance and I find this to be the perfect date night, but it could also be a lot of fun with friends. A girls night, or a family outing. And so much better than dinner and a movie. So, don’t miss out. Go and get your tickets and buckle in for an entertaining evening.
Note: my pictures were having trouble uploading to the blog today, so they will be on my social media accounts. Links are at the bottom of the home page.
