Just asking

Hello everyone. I’m back with another blog and I have a few questions. Well, more like I would like your opinions. There are some changes happening in my life and I need to figure out a few things. One of those things is how to make my blogs more interesting. So, I thought up some ideas, and I’m just asking that you all leave comments letting me know which idea, or ideas, you like the most. Let’s begin.

Short Stories

I love to write novels. However, those take a lot more time, and I’m not sure that putting a novel on for a blog will be a good idea. My next thought was to do short stories. This will allow me to dip my toe into becoming an author, and if people like my short stories, they may be more eager to buy a novel. Now, the hesitation here is that I don’t know how well I will do with short stories. I’ve put children’s stories off because I just can’t think of ideas. In school, I hated writing short stories because I couldn’t get my story out. It wasn’t long enough. However, maybe if I make it series like, I could pull off writing short stories if I think of it like writing a few chapters at a time. What do you think?

Fan Fiction

Now, to be clear, I would not be writing slash fiction. That’s not my style and definitely not something I would enjoy writing. To those who do, all the power to you, but that’s not my style. My fan fiction would be either redoing TV or movie series that I enjoy. I did dabble in this throughout high school as I was trying to figure out my writing style, and to my understanding, there is a huge following for these stories. Well, if you can find the right fan fiction base. I do have some ideas of what I would do, but I’m curious what you all think of fan fiction.

About Me

I know that I have an about me page. These blogs would be more in depth stories of my past, what’s happened in my life, and basically revealing everything. I will admit, this idea scares me the most. Fiction is safer because it’s fake and not about me. And I would also need to figure out what stories would be appropriate to share, and which are best left untold. To be honest, this is just an idea that popped into my head, and not one that I really want to try.

Interviews

To be honest, I would have to lower my expectations with this idea. The goal would be to start small, interview small business owners to get them some recognition. Then, over time, move up into more celebrity style interviews. I mean, who wouldn’t want to sit down and do an interview with someone like Chris Hemsworth or Emily Blunt? Maybe an athlete like Josh Morrissey or Tom Brady. For anyone who wants to ask, I would not be interested in interviewing politicians, so that most likely would never happen. I have no idea how I would get to that place, but it would be interesting.

What do you think?

So, what do you think? Would any of those styles interest you? Are there any other ideas you can think of? A blog is only successful if it has subscribers. I want to make these blogs worth reading. Growing this site and its followers is my goal. I can’t do that without your help. So please, help me out. Let me know what you would like. And for those of you who are waiting for more recipe blogs, as soon as I start cooking, regularly, again. Right now I’m eating poorly with either fast food or microwave dinners. Money is a bit tight right now, and may become even tighter with the changes happening. So, let me know what you want to read and let’s make this site grow. Anything can happen if we try.

  1. Maybe I’m a little biased, but I think interviews could be fun – especially if you ask some weird questions that make them think!

    1. I agree. If I ever get there, I’ll be sure to pick your brain for some idea questions 🙂
