It’s still crazy to think that I am growing so much in my entrepreneurial journey. Not just with my blog, but now with my podcast. It’s still in the beginning stages and I still have a very long journey ahead of me, but it’s growing! And that’s so exciting to me. Honestly, I think it’s growing more than my blog. But, let me share my exciting update regarding my podcast and my hope for the future.
Exciting Update – A Following
I have so many people in my life who are incredibly supportive. And there are a lot of people who, when they found out about my idea for the podcast, were really interested in it. I’ve been getting support from people I didn’t expect and it makes me so happy. And I can’t believe the following that is growing faster than I anticipated. Yes, I am only on Facebook when it comes to socials for the podcast, but I already have more podcast followers on Facebook than I have blog followers. And I have 5 followers already on Spotify. But, I guess it’s true what they say, podcasts do better than blogs.
Hit With a Sudden Thought
I have been writing blogs for almost 4 years. And I don’t seem to be growing my blog at all. My following hasn’t moved in months. And the fact that I already have more followers from my podcast that has an introduction and two episodes aired, it makes me think if the blog is something I need to continue. But I was hit with a sudden thought. What if, instead of a blog, Life With Stephanie became a podcast? I think this is something I need to seriously consider.
Exciting Update – Growing
Okay, but back to the exciting update. As of today, Stories From the Front Desk is now on YouTube! It took some frustration and head scratching and research. But I was finally able to figure out how to get my podcast onto YouTube. No, it’s not a video format where you see me sitting at my desk and talking to a camera. Maybe I will get there at some point, but not right now. But I am so excited to see the growth in the podcast already. And I am excited to see how much more it grows the remainder of this year.
Future Platforms?
I will be honest, I’m not sure if I’ll end up on any other platforms. Not because I don’t want the extra reach, but simply because I do not know the other platforms. I did look into Apple podcast but I need an apple account for that. And I don’t use apple products, so why would I get an apple account? Now, I didn’t look into Amazon podcasts, but I’m going to assume you need an amazon account. And I don’t think I have one. I usually use other people’s amazon accounts to order, the rare time that I do order. Remember, I’m poor. As for other platforms that were recommended? I haven’t heard of most of them. Only IHeartRadio. But I don’t know how popular that platform is.
Exciting Update – Next Steps
The hardest part of the podcast at this time is how to get stories from other hotel employees that I don’t know personally. Yes, I’m getting some stories, but they are slowing down. Other than stories from my own experiences, well, I’m running out of content. So, I started a reddit community to hopefully get some more stories and content. I know that as the podcast grows in popularity I will eventually grow in followers who will send me stories. Until then, I just have to keep trying to grow it.
Staying Consistent
This last week was really rough with me just being tired and not wanting to leave my bed. So, it did cause me to fall behind on my schedule and I had to quickly get next week’s podcast episode ready this morning before my blog. I can’t let that happen again. Unforeseen night shift issues can’t be helped, obviously. Which is probably what sent this week into a tailspin. But, that means that I need to be more intentional with my time. Even if I’m in a “I don’t want to” mood, I need to get my butt out of bed and into my office and get work done. Especially if I want to get serious about this.
Exciting Update Hopefully Coming Soon
I have somethings in the mix that I can’t tell you about just yet. But, whatever happens, whichever happens, could be quite exciting for me. So, keep an eye out for that. I’m just really intent on making something budge this year and I don’t know what that will look like for me just yet. But hopefully that update will come in the next few weeks. Until then, I want to keep growing in all aspects. And I am hopeful. So very hopeful. I think there will be a change in my life before the end of the year. And I can’t wait to see what it is.
