Feeling Stuck

I know, I know. Just the other day I was in high spirits and talking about growing with God and how amazing it is. And it is, but like I said in that blog, there will be hardships as well. And right now, that’s what is on my mind. I guess hardship is a bit of a strong word, but I’m feeling stuck at the moment. So, let me share what’s been on my mind and what I plan to do about it.

Feeling Stuck – Career

This really covers everything; the hotel, the blog, my podcast and my books. So, how exactly am I feeling stuck? Especially with the podcast since I have only launched the introduction episode, not even episode 1. Well, let’s break it down a little bit. With the hotel, I feel stuck as in…even with all the different things that encompass a day to day basis, I’m bored. Well, boredom isn’t exactly the word. Unmotivated is more like it. Other than the fact that I have bills to pay and I need to work in order to do that, I just feel very unmotivated to come to work. It feels like the biggest chore to get out of bed and get ready to come for work. And I’m not exactly sure how to fix it.

Working From Home

Yes, this is the dream. So, how can I feel stuck? Well, when it comes to my blog, I’m not sure how to grow it anymore. I’ve tried the consistency thing, and regular posting, but it doesn’t seem to do anything. There’s no growth and it’s frustrating. And, if I’m being honest, it makes me question if it’s worth it at all. The podcast I’m feeling stuck as I try to figure out how to grow my content intake. Essentially, how can I reach more hotel employees and get them to send me stories? I am getting some stories, but those will only last so long. People keep telling me to be patient and wait for the podcast to grow. I hope they’re right. And then we have my book. I am at a complete loss on how I’m going to raise more money for it. Because there’s no way my paychecks are high enough to pay off debt and save up enough to publish anytime soon.

Feeling Stuck in Health/Fitness

As any of you who have followed me for a while know, I suck at sticking to a fitness routine. I really thought that if I blogged about it that would be the motivation I needed to stick to it. But we all saw how that turned out. Every update was to tell you how I failed. And those are just the ones I told you about. I had plans to surprise you with a successful challenge, but it was unsuccessful after a week and so I never brought it up. My husband tries to tell me I’m beautiful and I love him for that. But I feel so uncomfortable in my body as I have put on so much weight. Honestly, I think I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been and that is extremely discouraging. But I don’t know how to get out of it.

Finances Don’t Help

I would love to eat healthier on a regular basis, but as we all know, healthy food these days costs an arm and a leg. And apparently I need mine. I had aspirations of starting a special meal plan challenge with my husband for the month of September, but between the two of us, the debt vs our paychecks is just too much. It feels like it’s “eat healthy or keep the lights on” and it sucks! I’m not blaming him. It’s neither of our faults, and yet both of our faults. But, we wear that and we try to deal with it paycheck to paycheck. And all the while we are trying to trust God to keep carrying us through. He hasn’t failed us.

Feeling Stuck in Life

Do you ever feel like you’re stuck and everyone else around you is moving forward and you just can’t keep up? Most days I feel like that. Again, God has been so good to me, and I’m thankful. Which is why I hate feeling stuck like this. I don’t need to have the life everyone else has. My life isn’t that bad, if I really think about it. And isn’t that just human nature? We can have a million good things in our life, but we focus on the one bad thing and our lives are awful because of it. It’s a problem, and I want to put my foot down right now and say, “Stephanie! Enough is enough.”

Getting Unstuck

So, how can I do this? How can I move forward and get out of the stuck? Well, I’m going to issue myself a challenge. I know what you’re thinking. Another challenge? How is that going to help? Well, I need to try, any you guys are going to hold me accountable. For the month of September, everyday in my stories, I’m going to post something I’m thankful for. This can either be a picture, or a video. But I want to dedicate an entire month to focusing on things I am thankful for; the things that are good in my life. And with brighter spirits, maybe things will start looking a lot brighter in my life and I won’t feel so stuck. Anything can happen if I try.
