Sorry everyone. I know I have been absent for way too long. It’s been over a week since my last post. There has just been a lot going on and I have been busy! So, today’s blog will be an update as we chat about what I’ve been up to, how future projects are progressing, and a new way I found to make a little bit of extra cash. Let’s chat.
How I’ve Been Busy
As a huge answer to a lot of people’s prayers, the hotel that I currently work at has picked up in business this month. So there have been extra hours, long days, and a lot of running around. The joys of being a manager. But the good thing with it being so busy is I’ll get more hours, which means my paychecks will be higher. And this means I can pay down my debt and hopefully put money aside for my future entrepreneurial endeavors.
The Podcast
I have one more payment to make for my computer and then I can start playing around with editing software to familiarize myself with it. And I should be able to do that with my next paycheck, which is super exciting. After that, I just need to get my microphones and a camera. But I have decided that once I have the microphones and the computer, I will then focus on starting to record the podcast and it will just be audio until I can get a camera to put the podcast on YouTube. The sooner I get that started, the sooner I can grow it and hopefully start making some extra money to help pay for everything.

This will obviously be a little further down the line. I’ll have two channels once I get things started though. One will be, as mentioned previously, for the podcast. The second will be my book content channel. Hopefully that will encourage me to read more books as well. Like the podcast, I know that these channels will take a while to grow a following and make any sort of income. But, I never said it would be easy. Like anything I’m trying, none of them are “get rich quick” schemes. They will take time, and may not even make me money at all. But it’s a risk I’m willing to take.
Busy Summer
Honestly, I was hoping my busy summer would be more beach days and bonfires. But with being a manager at a hotel, that happens to be too nice when people request time off, I end up covering a lot of shifts. Which is great for my paychecks, but leaves me too exhausted to do much else. And, I’ve been helping more at church in the children’s ministry area. This is very exciting for me because I missed being with the kids at church on a regular basis. And with the summer schedule, I have actually been with the little toddlers. So, that’s been different, but fun.
Busy With Market Prep
Okay, so I haven’t been as busy with this as I should have been, but it will certainly pick up soon. After all, the market is a few weeks away and if I want to sell desserts, I need to get on that. There’s planning the desserts, figuring out packaging, and then advertising it. So much to do and so little time. I need to get busy with that if I want to raise money for my book.
A Productive Distraction
Now, I dropped a hint at the fact that I was making some extra cash. Again, it’s not a lot. There’s no way I’ll be getting rich off of it. But, so far I have made a total of $54.50 with this distraction. A friend that I sent a referral link has made over $100 so far. You’re probably curious as to what I could possibly be talking about. It’s an app that pays you to play games. The app is called FreeCash. Now I know what you’re thinking. It’s all a scam. My paypal account says differently, and so does my friend’s. You do have to play a lot, and you won’t be quitting your day job. But some extra cash for a meal out, or to treat yourself, well that doesn’t hurt.
Keep Being Busy
I will continue to be busy. I have this incredible plan for August, when I take a break from the hotel and focus on my career in writing and more. Yes, I’ll be using that week to bake for the market, but I also want to be productive and practice and see what a week where I work from home is like. Honestly, I’m excited for the plans I have for that week. And I am very hopeful that it will be an incredible week. So, until the next blog, which hopefully will not be delayed like this one was, keep dreaming and hoping. Keep praying and working towards your goals. Because anything can happen if you try.
