Eat and Workout Like Ellen Pompeo

This last week of experimenting with Superhero Jacked the challenge was to eat and workout like Ellen Pompeo. She’s well known for her role in Grey’s Anatomy. So, let me tell you about the food I ate, the workouts I did and finally, my decision on if I am going to continue this challenge or not. Let’s dive into it, shall we?

Eat and Workout Like Ellen Pompeo – The Workouts

Now, Ellen is probably the calmest in the workout department out of the 4 that I tried to follow. She is active and likes hiking, walks, jogging, Pilates, Spin classes and cross-training. So, active, but you don’t feel like you’re dead at the end of the day. I mean, the woman is in her 50s and looks amazing. So the schedule on Superhero Jacked was simple. Monday, Wednesday and Friday were Pilates or Spin or Cross-Training. Tuesday and Thursday were running, hiking or hit 10k steps. Saturday and Sunday were to aim for 5-10k steps and rest. Easy, right? Apparently I live a very sedentary lifestyle and do not move around a lot. I downloaded a step tracker and my highest step count all week was 8,375 steps! Oops.

Not My Best Week

I did one day of Pilates. We had one really warm day so I decided to do my workout on the deck. It was so amazing and I hope we get warm weather like that again soon. I most certainly want to do outside workouts as much as possible. But other than that and a walk with my friend, I didn’t do much working out. Not sure what happened, but it was just a rough week with a huge lack of motivation.

Eat and Workout Like Ellen Pompeo – The Food.

Now, Superhero Jacked mentioned two different diets. One from 2010 when Ellen said she followed the “Energy Diet” which is essentially focusing on specific foods that give you energy. But in 2018 Ellen and her family switched over to being vegan. In my mind, I had a choice. I could follow the Energy Diet or do another week of Vegan. Honestly, I did not want another vegan week, so I opted for the Energy Diet….or, that was the plan. I intended to do as I had done with the Kesha week and just plan out my dinners for the week. The rest of the meals would be as much on plan as possible. Needless to say, it did not go according to plan.

Lack of Planning

Unfortunately, because my week lacked motivation, I didn’t actually do my research and plan out my meals. This meant I didn’t do any shopping and it resulted in me eating poorly. It was actually my worst eating week. I ate more junk food, consumed more alcohol, and honestly I don’t feel incredibly guilty about it. I’m glad I had one rotten week. It reminded me of why I started this challenge. There were days I just felt gross. And I strongly believe my lack of motivation stemmed from bad eating choices and lack of workouts as well.

Overall Thoughts on the Week of Ellen Pompeo

It was definitely my weakest week and I know that. It should have been the easiest week, if I’m being honest with myself. But it didn’t turn out that way and I have no one to blame but myself. Can I call any part of this week a success? I think I can. After all, I said I immediately noticed the difference from not eating well and working out. Will this motivate me for future weeks? Possibly.

Will I Continue

Yes and no. No, I won’t do this on a regular basis like I tried in April. But I think if I try it once a month and keep going, it could be fun to continue this series. And there are still so many celebrities to follow in the female category. Will I try the males? Probably not because I would definitely need a gym membership for them. I could use one for a lot of the female workouts as well. But I need more money for that. Not sure how much I could get away with using that as a business expense. I’ll have to ask. But I still need to be able to afford it. So yeah, it will become a monthly blog instead of weekly.

What’s the Next Month Looking Like

I’ve been thinking about it and if there are other challenge series I want to try. There are some ideas that I have, but I’m not 100% certain about them. I may do a poll on my social media accounts to see what you all think. After all, I want to write blogs that you all want to read. Someone told me to do a blog series on budget friendly dates. Would you be interested in that? I also believe that next week I’ll be doing another Destination Dinner Stage Review. What other blogs do you want to see? Comment below so we can get these blogs started. And hopefully I’ll have an exciting blog coming up in the next few months. It’s taking some time to put it together.

Until the Next One

Well, that is all I have today. I think my strongest week was, surprisingly, Kesha. My weakest was certainly Ellen Pompeo. And that is okay. We learn and keep going. It’s a journey, not a sprint. I will not change overnight. We all know that. But I won’t give up. In fact, I’m writing this blog from a cafe and I chose to walk instead of driving there. So I am quite proud of myself for that. Though, looking at the sky, I hope it doesn’t rain before I head home. If it does, I’ll probably call my husband to pick me up. But hopefully it’s just cloudy and I can walk. And as I say this….IS IT SNOWING???? Disappointment. Good thing I plan to be here a while. Until next time remember that anything can happen if you try.
