The New Plan

I am quite eager to enter the month of March and begin my plan. In fact, I’ve actually planned out some blogs for next month, but first we have to finish February. This week I am hoping to start the ball rolling. I want to gain some traction so that once March hits I can take off running. So, here is the new plan.

The New Plan – Blogging

As I’ve mentioned, I want to get back on track with my blogging. So, I have actually started to plan out blogs. You’re probably wondering what is up with that. The main reason I don’t stay regular with blogging is because I don’t know what to write. I know I want to write a blog, but then sit and think about what to write, draw a blank and don’t write one. With that, I figured I would plan out most of my blogs for March. Now, not all the blogs are planned out as I will hopefully have 5 blogs that are scattered in for book reviews. But, if everything goes according to plan I should have 2 blogs a week again. And if it goes well, I’ll continue this plan into April.

Social Media

I want to start posting more on social media. Now, I don’t think that I have enough content ideas for posting daily. Not yet at least. However, I do want to try and aim for at least 5x a week. This will cover posts, stories and reels. My hope with that is to reach more people who will like my blogs and want to read them. Maybe I can even get some more ideas for blogs from other people. And when I publish, there will be more people who will hear about my book. Which, leads me to the next point.

The New Plan – Writing

On top of blogging more, I want to spend more time actually working on my novel series. Yesterday I was actually listening to one of my playlists on Spotify and was hit with an idea for my series that totally caught me off guard. It was never even a thought before but as the idea settled I knew I had to go through with it. To help with this, I want to aim for about 20 hours a week of writing. Now I know what you’re thinking. That’s a lot of hours. Let me clear this up. Working on my blog will count towards those hours. So it’s not 20 hours a week of working just on my novel. Not yet anyway.

Changing my Mindset

Recently I was reminded that I want to make my writing a career. I want to be a successful blogger and author. Well, that won’t happen if I don’t treat it that way. With the new plan I am hoping to change my mindset to fit that. Yes, I have a full time job that has random hours. But what am I doing with my free time? Nothing. It’s being wasted. Hopefully, as I implement the new plan and grow in it, I can have that mindset. The mindset that writing isn’t a hobby, but my job. Sure, it will take a while for me to see financial rewards, but when I do, it will have been worth all the hard work. And I really want to cement that mindset this year.

The New Plan – Hurdles

No, I have no plans to run and jump hurdles. Not happening my friends. I would most certainly break something. The hurdles I am talking about are the kind that will interfere with the new plan. As we know, I am notorious for aiming for something and then flopping. How can I prevent these things from happening? What can I do to fight my biggest enemy – myself? Frankly, I don’t have an iron clad plan. This week I do want to start prepping some of the stories and reels for social media. And I have a plan to spend some hours working on my novel. Believe it or not, I have my next blog planned as well. Progress. It will come out closer to the weekend though. There will be days where I won’t be able to tackle anything, but on the days that I can – I need to. Will you hold me accountable?

Executing The New Plan

It is currently Monday, February 23rd, at the time of writing and posting this blog. I have Thursday and Sunday completely off. On those days I will spend a minimum of 4 hours working on my writing and social media. And I intend to post a story showing that I’m working. I will never do a mock where I share something fake. So I won’t take a picture of me working, when I’m not working. Of course, you guys are smart and will be able to tell if I’m lying. But I’ll incorporate writing into my weekly goals and let’s see what happens this year. Because we know that anything can happen if we try.
