DDS – Mamma Mia

Well, it’s been quite a while and this blog is most certainly late. My apologies for that. I even hinted at it a while back. Shame on me. But, now that I am getting back into blogging, I do have some blogs to catch up on. First on the docket is my review of the last show at Destination Dinner Stage that I went to. The show was Mamma Mia. Let me tell you about my experience.

Mamma Mia Menu

Voulez Vous Salmon Ladolemono

As always, the food was delicious. And of course, it was themed around the show. There was a vegetarian option, beef, chicken and fish options, as per usual. I went with the fish option, which was a salmon dish with potatoes and vegetables. It was called Voulez Vous Salmon Ladolemono. Delicious. To start was a greek salad and for dessert Rosie’s Baklava. Absolutely delicious. The drinks were good too. I don’t remember the names of the two drinks I had, but I do remember that I really enjoyed them.

Mamma Mia Service

Rosie’s Baklava

It was a pretty full show when we went. So, service was a little slower than last time, but it was still good. The servers were polite and as attentive as they could be. We did have to ask for one of the desserts before we got it, but they were quick to get it once we informed them that we had not gotten the dessert. But like I said, the servers were friendly and worked as quickly as they could.

Mamma Mia Show

The show was highly entertaining, with lots of laughs, great songs, and entertaining from start to finish. I have not seen the Mamma Mia movies (I know, shocker.) So I can’t tell you any comparisons. However, one of the people I went with had seen the movies and she told me there were differences in the character dynamics. But I’m sure the show has to have differences to avoid copy rights and all that.

Overall

Overall Mamma Mia was a great show. The experience was a great one, as always. I enjoy what Destination Dinner Stage does for the dinner theatres and the price is very reasonable for what you’re getting. If you haven’t checked them out, you should. They’re at the Canad Inns in Winnipeg. At the time I am writing this blog the current show is Die Harder. I’m excited to hopefully go see it. And of course, blog about it.

What’s Next

Well, that’s my review of Mamma Mia at Destination Dinner Stage. I hope you all follow along to see what other reviews I do, as well as other blogs. The hope is to review as many shows as possible. I did miss their rendition of Greece, unfortunately. But it just wasn’t in the budget. Until the next one remember, that anything can happen, if you try.
