Dream a Big Dream

Hey everyone. Today I want to share a dream that I have for the future. It obviously involves blogging, but in what way. You all know that I want to turn this into a career and write blogs full time, but what else? What are my hopes and dreams for the rest of the year? Some may even ask what my goals are. Well, read on and let me share that with you all.

Blogging Goals

So, let’s start with the blogs. Where do I want to take this, and what do I hope to accomplish with this site? I hope to find the blog genre that fits my personality and writing style, while at the same time writing what you all want to read. The goal is to grow in popularity so that I can show up more in Google searches. I also want to write blogs that encourage and inspire my readers in their lives. And finally, I hope to have a somewhat steady stream of income by the end of the year. How much? Well, enough that I can start investing in my goal for next year but I’ll talk more about that later.

Dreams for the year

Now let’s talk about my dreams for this year. Where do I want to be by the end of the year? The dream is to grow my traffic to my site and increase revenue. I am planning a trip to Newfoundland this summer and want to blog about it as well. As I’ve mentioned before, I am hoping to become a travel blogger one day. The dream is to also get into the best shape of my life. That’s where the fitness journey blogs will come in. Stay tuned for the February edition. Another dream for this year is to do lots of things that I’ve wanted to try, or maybe never heard of. I want to explore more. So often, when I’m with my friends, it involves food and a movie. These are not bad things, but I want to get more creative with our time. We did a bit of that a few weeks ago and went to The Rec Room. Great food, great games and axe throwing. The night was a blast.

The hope

My hope, as mentioned already, is to be making a steady income from my site through my partnering with Google AdSense. Ideally, I would like to be making enough money to be paying for most, if not all, my rent from my site alone. I could then put the paychecks I get from the hotel towards paying off debt and saving to buy a house. What can I say? I have big hopes and dreams. I also hope to have enough money to go visit my mom for Christmas. We don’t get to see each other a lot, so I try to go at least every other year.

Eye on the prize

Well, I touched on investing into my goal for next year. Want to know what it is? Really? Okay, I’ll tell you. I want to start my own YouTube channel. Some stories, or messages, are hard for me to write out, but easy to talk about. That’s where YouTube comes in. I have no intention of being the kind of YouTuber that walks around in public, talking to a camera, and getting all these weird looks from people. It will just be home vlogs, and other videos that don’t require me to film outside my house. Okay, maybe on my balcony, or if I’m in a park. If I have the funds to get a gym membership I may vlog about my fitness journey, but I would only film at the gym if there was no one else around that I would bother, or risk catching on camera. We’ll see what happens.

The big goal is to be able to work from home, through blogging and YouTube, and be making enough money that I can go down in hours at the hotel. Through that, I could spend more time and energy on blogs and videos, which will hopefully result in more income from that, and then turn that into my full time career by the end of next year. I know what you’re thinking. Steph, you’re crazy. That will never happen.” Never say never my friends. Remember, anything can happen if you try. Well, I’m going to try

What if….

Well, what if I don’t reach those goals in the time frame I’m hoping for? Honestly, I won’t be too upset about it. I know that I have big and ambitious dreams. There’s a really good chance that I won’t make my goals in my time line. Then why make them? What if I’m wrong? The only way I truly fail at reaching my goals is if I just stop and don’t try. I might make my dreams come true, or I might not. However, I truly believe everyone should have one big dream that they strive for. It doesn’t have to be as big as mine, but big for you.

Your turn

So, now it’s your turn. What are your hopes and dreams for this year? Maybe you want to buy your dream home. Perhaps you want to get out of debt. Some of you may be hoping for a baby, dreaming of a family. The only limit to what you can dream up is your own imagination. So, this year, I invite you to make a goal, or make a dream board. Then work towards it. I’m not talking about new years resolutions. I’m talking about something bigger. The world can be such a dark and negative place. Let’s shine some light on it by living our best lives. Chase your dreams, encourage others in theirs, and together, let’s make 2023 just the first chapter in a long story of reaching for the stars. Anything is possible if you try. Are you in?

  1. Love this!!!! I can’t wait to see where your bog takes you!!
Thank you for the encouragement and reminder to chase dreams 🙂

  2. I’ve often heard that very successful people fail often before they actually succeed so failure as you mentioned is not failure unless you quit. Keep reaching for the stars and keep your eyes on Jesus.
Success will also take a lot of work. Work hard my beautiful Steph and it will come.
    Love you
