Favourite Movies

I wasn’t sure what to put on today’s blog, and I knew I couldn’t skip the day. So, I tried to think of a topic that might interest some people. Now, I want to be clear about something. My favourite movies are always changing. However, this will be a small list of movies that I love and can watch multiple times and still enjoy them. So, without further ado, let’s go.

Into the Grizzly Maze

This one, for me, is a no-brainer. I think I’ve seen this movie three times and I could still watch it over and over. The movie is about a group of people who end up getting hunted by a giant grizzly. It’s one of those man verse nature type movies – like shark movies, but better. The main characters are James Marsden and Thomas Jane. They play brothers who grew up in the area before one left and did a stint in jail. Throughout the movie the other brother, who is an officer, struggles to trust his brother and keep everyone safe, while they try to lose the bear in what is known as the Grizzly Maze. Honestly, my favourite thriller ever.

Venom

Marvel fans will recognise this title. Starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, the movie follows as he investigates some strange happenings and ends up getting in over his head. Eddie accidentally bonds with a symbioyte from another planet and the two form an unusual and comical friendship. But there is someone who wants the symbioyte back and Eddie and Venom have to elude them, the police, and try to save the planet from others like Venom. Venom is one of my favourite movies in the Marvel franchise and as much as I enjoyed the second one, the first is my current favourite of the two. And I can’t wait to see the third one in theatres this fall.

The Expendables

Now, to be clear, The Expendables series is awesome and I really do enjoy all of them. I can tell you that the second is my least favourite, but I would still watch it again. All of the Expendables movies are great, but I think the third one I enjoyed the most. Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham are joined by Antonio Banderas, Kellan Lutz, and some more new faces, while other familiar faces return as well. If you’re looking for a good action packed movie, this is it. The final fight scene is epic and Antonio Banderas keeps you laughing the whole time. A great cast, great action sequences, sprinkled with some comedy and showing what loyalty looks like – it’s no wonder that this series made it onto my favourite movies list.

Short List of Somewhat Favourite Movies

I can’t think of any others that make it to this list. Now, for some of you who know me well, you’re probably scratching your heads and wondering why some didn’t make the cut. I wanted to put movies that I would watch from beginning to end over and over. There are lots of movies such as the Lord of the Rings trilogy, the Bourne movies, The Hobbit trilogy and more that I do love. However, I would just watch my favourite moments or I would have to be in a certain mood to watch them. So, because they are not movies I would watch completely over, just moments, I didn’t want to put them on the list. Great movies, but more for favourite moments.
